Cats! Wow! What more can I say… First off it is truly amazing to have had such an iconic Broadway show on our stage.

Second, something that is just as amazing – the feats our crew go through to make shows this size happen… 3 tractor trailers to unload and mounds of snow to contend with… now that is a wow!

And third, something that’s truly special are the things that professional artists, in this case specifically cast members of Cats! do for our community. Below are pictures from Sunday morning’s master class with students of our performing arts school.

It really is commendable for the cast to perform their hearts out Saturday night, teach our kids Sunday morning, then turn around and perform a matinee later that afternoon.

Can we top this past weekend? I like to think we do that with each new weekend that approaches. We’ve got another classic arriving to port, Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore, followed by the New Shanghai Circus, and finally Beauty & the Beast.

January 24th

It was another exciting weekend here at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. We traveled to a galaxy far, far away with Charles Ross’s One Man Star Wars Trilogy and arrived home to listen to Morristown’s very own - The Praise and Worship Choir of Calvary Baptist Church of Morristown who opened for the Harlem Gospel Choir Saturday night!

And it looks like we have another winter storm heading our way, but that won’t stop us because we’re looking forward to Manhattan Comedy Night and Andrew Lloyd Weber’s timeless musical Cats this weekend.
