Free Outdoor Concerts begin June 15!

The Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts and the Arts Council of the Morris Area are presenting MUSIC WITHOUT BORDERS, four free summer outdoor world music concerts in June and July. Each concert will feature a performance for a world music artist who reflects the diverse culture and population of the Morris County area.

Two concerts will be held at lunchtime and two in the evening. Brown bag a meal, stop by while walking your dog and experience a world music celebration while getting to know your neighbors.

“We are attempting to engage all the various and divergent populations, in and around Morristown, in a genuine celebration of all of our cultures and ethnic roots,” said Peter Mancuso, member of the Mayo Center Board of Trustees and Chair of the Center’s Community Outreach Committee. “How blessed we are to live in such a diverse community where all of us can come together for enjoyment of the arts.”

The concert schedule is:

“Committed to bringing the arts to the center of community life, the Arts Council of the Morris Area is thrilled to collaborate with the Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts in this unique project: bringing music from around the world to the center of Morristown through an exciting, free outdoor concert series,” said Anne Aronovitch, Executive Director, Arts Council of the Morris Area.
